Intel i7 2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
1279MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 (EVGA)
CM Hyper 212x
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z68AP-D3 (Socket 1155)
931GB Seagate ST31000524AS (SATA)
ASUS Xonar D2X
Razer Imperator 2012
Razer Lycosa

I made a thread 12 hours ago and now I have decided to buy a GTX 780 instead because of it's 3GB VRAM and better peformance. My GTX 570 is faulty and I would rather replace it than pay $340 NZD to repair it. I was wondering if the GPU will be compatible with the mobo and CPU.

I thought it was established that a gtx680 or 7970 was already starting to saturate PCIe 2.0 bandwidth? given that the gtx 780 is significantly faster than a 680, wouldn't it be held back by this? (at least 5% or so)
