Chassis fan connectors won't fit MB?

Hi everyone,

I am using an ASUS P8Z77-V PRO motherboard with a NZXT Phantom 001WT and a PC Power & Cooling Silencer MK II 750 Watt PSU. The problem is, the chassis fan connectors will not plug into the motherboards designated fan slots. Both the connects on the chassis fans and the connectors in the motherboard are 3 pin MALE connectors. They simply will not fit together since they are both pins that "stick out". Anyone ever encounter this and know how to solve it?

Also, how do I power the fans with my PSU? The power cable for my fan looks like a SATA cable end (female) and I see no equivalent connection to feed into it? I can't imagine I would connect it to one of the SATA slots on the motherboard? Or do I?

Thanks!

Solution
The fan controller is integrated into the top of the case. I think five slide controlls on the right hand side of the top.
Look in the case manual for complete instructions.

I had it a little wrong... The cables from each fan is 3 pin and the ones on the board are 4 pin. Both are pins that stick out so they cannot connect yet it says on my motherboard manual that I connect the fans to each of the 4 pin connectors on the board. There was no included fan controller?
