Hello, I am researching parts for a new build. I am looking at the Intel Core i5-4570 chip. I do not plan to overclock the CPU, which is why I am not looking at the 4570k. However, I do want to buy ram that is rated at 1600 and I want it to run at 1600. I downloaded a manual for one of the Gigabyte boards that I'm looking at and read up on xmp setting, it has a note that says: xmp is only available for cpu's that support it. Well, I can't find anywhere on the Intel specs website that says if a chip supports ram xmp or not. I know non-k Haswells are locked for overclocking, so does that mean it won't support xmp either (even if the ram and mobo do)?

Thanks...
