Aggregating powerline and wireless-N connections within LAN for higher read/write speeds

I have a HTPC in one room in my house. My desktop contains files access through a Windows 7 shared folder. My desktop has both wireless-N and powerline ethernet connections.

My throughput isn't enough to sustain streaming larger video files. It's nearly enough. Currently, my HTPC and desktop are talking to each other over the powerline adapter. I'm searching for a solution that allows me to merge wireless-N and powerline 'pipes' within my LAN (local network only). I've tried doing this using Connectify Dispath but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions other than upgrading adapters or installing cat5e/6? I'm looking for any solution that involves my current adapters.

Thanks.

Sorry not really. I heard some people tried powerline, but really was a passing fad, as Wireless N really helped make any established areas wireless and not expensively. Now with Wireless AC ratified, which costs the same as Wireless N, you can use less equipment, get faster/stronger range signals then before. I would suggest you simply just go wireless, there is plenty of USB adapters and it is relatively cheap in costs.

I have tested both Power line and dual channel N. Although I have not tried Link aggregation. What speed Power line adapters do you have? For me Wireless N did not work consistently. I run Netgear powerline XAV5101 and XAV5501 adapters in my house and they do the trick. It still has some lag with 3D content but can adjust down the quality to make it work. Distance is a factor also. My media server is in my office on the 2nd floor (middle of house) and my Living Room is downstairs to the far left of the house. I did see speed reduction from upstairs close to the living room. Just sayin.
