PSU/MoBo help -- Case Fans

Solution
if you look on your power supply photos there are female molex and floppy power plugs. you only need that cable if you cant use the mb fan ports for now or have more fans than mb fan headers.
those are fan headers, you plug fans directly to them. the mobo gives it power, meaning you dont need to plug the fan to the psu. However, there are options, like you can use the psu to power your fans also, this is obvious if you look at the connectors.

if you want fan speed control you have to use 4 pin fans on the mb or fan controller. three pin fans are controlled by the amount of voltage going into them. some people use fan power wires with a built in fixed restore to do 7v fan speed or 1/2 speed. some people buy cables that have variable resistor in them to change the fan to a fixed speed. if your going to power the fan for a short time then pick up a four pin molex to fan cable wire and leave the fans at 100 percent till you can get the fan controller you want. (most fan controllers use a molex or sata power port now to power the controller.

So, you're saying to pick up that molex for the future? Alright. But, one question: http://www.moddiy.com/products/Single-Braid-Molex-4%252dPin-to-4x-3%252dPin-Fan-Cable-%2815cm%29-%252d-Black.html < Is that converting a 4 pin to a 3 pin? And do you plug the molex directly into the PSU? Is there actually a 3-pin spot in there?

Ok, thanks! Just to sum this up; You put the Molex cable, the 4-pin side, in the case fans, and then plug the Molex cable in the Female molex power plug, is that correct? This seems a lot simpler than what I had imagined.

yes your got it almost right....use a female molex from power supply cable. then plug in the fan cable adaptor...
there two types of them 4 pin and three pins. lok at the end of your fans top make sure you buy the right one. then plug the fans into the power cable and your done. (just to let you know there no fan speed reg this way the fans run 100 percent all the time.)
