Seagate vs Western digital

So I'm looking at this http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=20856 and this http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=16199

The Seagate drive has twice the capacity for the same price as the WD. Is there anything particularly awesome about the WD drive that justifies the price or is it one of those brand name things?

Didn't have a chance to look too closely at them, but I did notice the WD had a 5 year warranty and the seagate only had a 2 year. That usually suggests better quality. At least, your getting something tangible for the extra money.

You are comparing the fastest WD consumer drive against a very good Seagate. As the Seagate is 7200rpm, has reasonable speed, and I have dozens running in NAS boxes, if you need the space more than bleeding edge speed, get the Seagate.

I would not pay the difference for the warranty for a consumer home computer or NAS box, and use Enterprise drives in commercial NAS boxes. No OEM (Dell, HP, Lenovo) use Blacks -- too expensive and they run hot.
