Hi everyone. I built a pc last night, and stupidly, I forgot that my power supply was turned on and plugged in while I plugged in all of its cables to the motherboard. I know, i'm dumb. I have tried literally everything, and have come to the conclusion my motherboard broke because of this. My question is, did I ruin any of my other parts? Is the CPU, Graphics card, Ram or any other components fried as well? How can I tell?

I have poured over the forum and made sure that I have tried every single recommendation for posting a computer.

You have reset the PSU by either the switch or unplugging it? See any sparks or fans moving as you plugged things in? Most likely only the Board if the PSU still works.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. yes I tried that earlier, I did not notice any malfunctions, or weird things happening when I flip the PSU switch. Psu seems to work perfectly.

Have you checked with one ram at a time or checked by replacing the ram? Cleared the CMOS? Plugged in the 4-pin/8-pin cpu power connector? Plugegd in the gpu's power connectors that comes from the psu?

Yup, tried all of those. The only thing I am confused about is your last sentence "Plugegd in the gpu's power connectors that comes from the psu?" Can you explain?

High power graphics cards need power lead coming directly from the PSU.

Oh ya, I tried posting with and without the graphics card. Im using a gtx780. I made sure that the power supply is 700 watt, and had the correct cables plugged in for my graphics card. I used the 8 pin and the 6 pin cables coming from my PSU that was labeled PCI-E, thats correct right?
