Hello forum,

I recently purchased Battlefield 4 just to find out that my specs are not optimal for some multiplayer maps, specially the ones that are extremely large and with a lot of vegetation. The issue is "Micro-stutter" and FPS drops in certain maps, not all of them and not all the time. I recorded a video of the issue. Please note that the issue is present even though I lower the setting to high or medium. As I said is not all maps and not all the time. I've already followed a lot of tutorials like the one to install DirectX from the BF4 folder and download a little tweeker file. Nothing has worked. Please see for yourselves:

youtube: /watch?v=z0-l9Quh0QQ

What can I do? Is it my system or is it the game or drivers?

My specs are:

Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 latest BIOS
Processor: AMD FX 8150 Black Edition 8-core Overclocked to 4.6 Ghz
Memory: Kingston Hyper-X KHX16009D3B1 8GB (2X4GB) @1600 Mhz
Video: X2 EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked 2GB (SLI)
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000W 80 Plus Bronze
Cooling: Corsair H100i
Case: Cooler Master Haf-X

Drives:
ADATA XPG SX900 128GB SSD (Boot)
Seagate 1Tb (Storage)
WD Green 1Tb (Storage)
WD Mybook 1Tb (Storage)

Thanks in advance.

P.S.

I don't know if this is the correct section for this thread because I don't know if the issue is with my cards (SLI) or with the game or drivers. Correct me if I should post this into another section.

thats cool but heres my thing about these games nowadays. i dont support games that i have to relie on 3 partys in order to play them , so it may be steam or who ever that has controal over ''YOUR'' game. may be there server lags or cant handle the traffic at the time your playing? i cant spend my money on a game that i have to be online so some reason or another in order to play. becuse now you dont know if its them or you that causeing the issues. i also see that bf4 still has some kinks thatthere still working on so... i miss out on a lot of good gaming now thanks to there steam ,online connection requirements and so forth. you got a nice rig for sure way better then mine. oh and dont forget that the so called PC games aare...
wow i dont get that ''my specs are not optimal for some multiplayer maps, specially the ones that are extremely large and with a lot of vegetation.'' seems like that build should handle things well. although i once had a nvidia card that if there was stuff on fire like a bombed out burning building it would hurt it bad for some reason. as long as i did not ''look'' at the fire it was good. that vid card driver my be not so good i would try a new or an older driver to see or try each card one at a time in each of the x16 slots to determan if its one of the cards or one of the slots, you never know. after i did sli i determaned that SLI means sudden loss of income. the only benifit i see with it was pushing a big screen[ 40'' or larger] and thats was it. but back to you i would try each card one at the time in each x16 slot and try a differant driver . looking at your specs. it should be hammering things out.

I meant that the issue is only present in certain maps not all and not at all times. I've played those maps and sometimes I can play flawlessly and some times it's like in the video

BTW I've already tested both video cards separately. my thoughts are that this is not a system issue per se. Why? because the issue is not present in all maps. Also check that in the video I'm on the map menu not even into the gameplay, so I recorded another video where I go ahead and lower the setting to High without MSAA and the issue still present.

Another thing is that I'm currently playing Batman Arkham Origins all maxed out and I see FPS 80+ average 50 or 60 with no stuttering or those violent FPS drops. Alos Assassins 4 BF.
