Hi There ,,

I Have A Seagate Barracuda 2 tb

And I Was Running On IDE Sata Mode

And The Burst Mode On Hd Tune Was About 330 mb/s

But After That I Heard About AHCi And Its Better Than IDE

So I Swtiched From IDE To AHCI

And Reinstalled The Windows 7 64x Again

but When I Made A New Test With Hd Tune

Burst Rate Scored Only 230 mb/s

What Is The Problem I Have Got ??

i installed it but still the burst rate is low

would it be better to return to IDE

and what are the advanatges of the AHCI Over IDE ??

PS : i changed the sata cable with another one but its the same result

Odd that it is faster under IDE then AHCI. AHCI enables NCQ (native command queing), hot swap capability, and a few other advanced features of the drive. It's also generally faster or equal to the older IDE mode.

You may to try a utility other than HDTune just to verify the numbers. You can find HD TACH at several locations online. ATTO is also pretty good.
