Hello,

A few days ago I bought Battlefield 4. After playing for 10 minutes my first crash occurred. The game runs fine at ultra but it just crashes. Also, the strange thing is that I got 4 types of crashes: The regular BSOD, a complete system freeze, One blue and one red screen before rebooting. And a sudden reboot.

My temperatures are within normal ranges, cpu stays around 55 degrees celsius in-game and the gpu 65 degrees max.

I tried re installing drivers, .net frameworks 4.5, direct X. I also lowered the in-game graphics and clocked my card back. I also tried compatibility mode as I am running 8.1 (Windows 7 running as admin)

These are the two errors I am getting in the Windows logs:

ID: 2004
Source: Perfnet
Unable to open the Server service. Server performance data will not be
returned. Error code returned is in data DWORD 0.

ID: 1008
Source: Perflib
The Open Procedure for service ".NETFramework" in DLL "C:\Windows\system32\mscoree.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.

My system specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8150 Black Edition
MOBO: ASRock 970 Extreme3
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB GDDR5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2X2133C9R
PSU: Nexus RX-6300 (630 watt)

I hope you guys can help me as I really like the game.

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Solution

His problem is the game itself... He's not the only one experiencing this. Its just a matter of time to wait until the game is fixed.

Dice/EA did a very poor job on release and i was experiencing all these as well. The first patch it fixed half of them and the second patch fixed the others. But the only one left for me is directx crashes if i play while my gpu is overclocked, i have to play with default setting on my gpu. Not to mention there are more problems arising as well.

MysteryINC, my temperatures are within normal ranges, the gpu stays at 65 degrees celsius max and the cpu around 55.

Jared485, I already tryed playing with default gpu settings and low graphic settings in-game. Nothing helped.

Thanks for the answers.

Hello Jason,

since January I share your passion ;)

im playing on 2 PCs:

AMD X6 1090T
ASUS Crosshair IV Formula
4 x 2GB AMD Black Edition 12800
Radeon R9 290X
Win 8.1

and

AMD FX-4350
ASRock 970 Extreme 3
4 x 1 GB OCZ 1067
Radeon HD5850
Win 8.1

The first PC (X6 1090T + ASUS Crosshair IV) is running very well ( ! ) ... no errors, bsod's, restarts

but the second one is really getting on my nervs!
Since I bought the FX-4350 + ASRock 970 Extreme 3 I share the listed errors, too ^^

-freeze
-BSOD
-simple red screen
-sudden reboot

I don't know a solution, but I think it is not the game that have to be fixed.

Hey,

It might be the mobo then, but in the meantime I have replaced mine with the R2.0. So either the problem wasn't fixed or it is something else. Next thing on the replace list is my gpu. Now I am just hoping that my pre-ordered Watchdogs wil run fine today ^^
