Asus P8z77-v No Post? (I know you've seen this title a million times but slightly different)

Okay so for starters I've seen the many many posts of Asus mobos No post and random freezes and to be honest, I have had the random freezing issue since I built my rig and with no avail, have given up looking for a solution. I'm here today as a long time reader first time poster and hopefully someone can help before I give up and order some new parts. :)

I have an Asus P8z77-V mobo with a vengance 8 gig stick of ram and a random 1 gig from a friend, a second gen intel i3 (cant remember the exact number), an EVGA 650 and a Corsair 750w psu. - This has been a budget build since I began replace parts when my HDD was in its original asus case :p

Now onto the problem that seems slightly different from every other post... I put my rig together back in april and I've been gaming since then just fine. Admittedly, I do carry my computer around with me for lan parties but it spends most of its time next to my desk. I just got back from a mega 3 day lan and i set up my computer monday night turned it on and everything was fine and I said, you know while I've got a free night and I'm home early and not busy etc etc, I booted it down and disconnected everything and wiped out the fans and added 2 or 3 more fans from my friends case that he gave me and changed some of the wire routing. Got back to the desk booted it up, Fans come on and I can hear the HDD spin and I get black screen a short SINGLE flash on the CPU led and then the RAM light proceeds to light up and stay lit indefinitely and the pc stays running.

I tried breaking everything down, re seating the cpu moving and RAM sticks (also trying 1 or the other ram stick by itself) checking for bent pins, swapping for my old power supply and NOTHING. Basically after a couple days of patience and hours of searching I have found nothing and I am left thinking that maybe its the motherboard and basically does anyone know anything I dont or have an idea for me. The honest truth is im like 99% sure that something is fried but I dont know what to replace, and I dont have spare parts to try to exclude anything so does anyone know what it MOST LIKELY is that needs to be replaced. I'm thinking I might most likely get a new mobo and cpu but anything you guys have to say is appreciated! :)

It looks like a motherboard issue, but not 100% sure.
I suggest though RMA-ing it (3 yrs warranty for ASUS motherboards).
The memory controller is integrated into the CPU, so, if under warranty, I would RMA it too.
What you can do for troubleshooting is attaching a case speaker to the motherboard, starting it with only CPU and CPU fan installed and checking if getting 1 long 2 short beeps.

Just a quick question... if I'm tired of the random freezing, should I just buy another motherboard? It is semi-annoying, like any other gamer, sometimes it's just a large inconvenience -.-... Any quick recommendations if anyone answers "pro buy another one" to keep ddr3 and 1155 socket -- at the time (and still kinda is) the asus p8 is a pretty high recommendation for z77 bios ddr3 1155)
