Dear Community,

I recently bought a new computer tower (Link for New PC) and it's got 8GB Ram, and is it possible for me to add more Ram card from my previous pc? (Link for Old PC)

If you need more info, feel free to let me know!

Both of those are ddr3 rams. But the problem is, your new ram is 2x4gb right? Your old one is 2x2gb. So no, it's not possible. You need to partner memory with the same spec, same brand, same latency, same size. In fact exactly the same would sum it up.

Both PC's use DDR3 RAM so yes the old RAM is compatible with your new PC. Most full size motherboards have 4 RAM slots so you can move the RAM from the old PC but it might not work. The new PC says 8 GB dual channel so it probably has two 4GB sticks of memory. Your old PC might have two 2Gb sticks or one 4GB stick. Memory speeds might be different so the PC might not boot. Try it.

It's not a good idea to buy DRAM to mix it, but since you have the DRAM in hand give it a try, if the mobo has four slots put the new in slots 1-3 from CPU and the old in 2-4 and give it a try, if it doesn't work, prob out of luck though as most prebuilts don't allow you to make voltage adjustments which might be needed to get them to play together
