I built my first pc yesterday and when I connected my ethernet cable it said that network adapter driver not found and that I needed to download one. I don't have a network adapter I think because the ethernet cable connects from my d-link router all the way to my room where my pc is. The cable works find on my other pc and that one was built by hp but i didn't see any network adapters in it when I opened it up, just an ethernet port. When I check the network adapter area in device manager on my old pc it shows Realtek RTL8101e Family PCI-E FE NIC.

My specs for my new pc:
Case: IN WIN GRone
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB
SSD: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD128BW 128GB
Motherboard: ASUS Z87-A
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 660
RAMM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU: CORSAIR GS700 700W
Cooling: CORSAIR H60
Optical Drive: LG - Super-Multi 24x Internal DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive

The network adapter is integrated in the motherboard. A cd with drivers came with it you only need to install the network driver that came in that cd or you can go to https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87A/#support, choose driver and tools and download "Realtek LAN Driver V7.67.1226.2012 for Windows 7 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)".

The driver on Asus website might be newer than the one in the cd so it is better to download from there if you can.
