Hello guys. I have a i5 4670k , was wondering if i should go with a water cooler or fan. I am planning on Over clocking it. As of right now i am using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO but I know I will need a new one when I oc. Please do not give suggest products you have personally never used. Thank You.

by the way i have a 1150 socket mobo

I would recommend you go for the Noctua NH-D14 if you can live with it's color scheme.Alot of people find it quite ugly. While alot do not so it's something you need to decide by yourself. if it's to ugly for you. Then look at Phanteks PH-TC14PE_ comes in different colors i am sure you'll like one of them. it will perform the same as those Closed Loop water coolers at a much lower cost, and most likely quieter as well.

If you want water, to be totally honest you gotta go fully custom. Some members may disagree but at the end of the day. Many people, including me say the "if you go for water cooling, go for custom ones as they are the best."
But custom loops tend to be on the pricey side.

Wow!$140.00 is way to much for the performance you'll be getting out that closed loop.If you are going to spend that kind of money you would be much better off getting a raza kit bud.I mean if you really want to get that kit go ahead but just know you are not getting best bang for your buck! It's not a bad choice just overpriced is all.

THAT CM GTS V8 IS A MONSTER. Installation looks like a bitch. by the way how hot should my 4670k get? under full load, or better yet, what should it not go over at any times.

I've used a few now of both and find the CM to be better at cooling and quieter, which is why I went with it, have even had a 3 clients switch from their Noctuas to the V8 after seeing it and how it does, they are happier with it also

yea , I already compared the 2 on forums. Most likely i am going to get the NH-D14, it's not a coincidence it has 800 plus reviews on newegg with 5 stars. I gave up on water coolers, while they are smaller and look cleaner, i guess they tend to cause a lot more problems. So in sense, the nh-d14 can keep my cpu the same temp. as water coolers when oc?

Install is a bit of a pain with one of the lockdowns depending on how tight things are, but they supply a small wrench that makes it easier

but the question is, does it do a good job on the cooling when under full load? i have not found a lot of reviews under full load with oc.
