So I put together a new machine
Motherboard- ASROCK 990FX Extreme 9
CPU - AMD FX9370
Memory - 4x 4gig 1866 Ares Gskill memory
GPU - Radeon 7870
PSU - Raidmax RX-850AE
Case- RaidMax Vampire Full Tower
Cooler - CoolerMaster Seidon 120v
LG 24xDVD Multi Drive
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD

Processor seems to sit at 68C when idle. Seems a bit hot to me while not doing anything. The Seidon 120v doesnt seem to be cutting it. What do I need to cool this thing down more? Something like H110? What temp should I be shooting for with this thing? I know it runs much hotter than the older AMD chips due to the voltage.

That is WAYYYYYY too high for idle that's pretty close to the max temp. I would recheck my installation it should do better than that if it is installed properly and the paste was done correctly. The H110 would certainly be an upgrade in cooling but I don't know that you need something that stout.

grabbed a h100i and some formula 7 thermal compound. WOW what a difference, cpu sits at around 30C even while gaming. Even when turning on the turbo and boosting the cpu to 4.73ghz it hovers around 50.
