Hi all,
I recently purchased a Sapphire R9 280X Toxic edition, and upon installation, I found out that it wasn't much better than my old nvidia 560TI card. The first time I ran 3dmark 11, I had serious artifacts and a score of 8771. After restarting, there were no artifacts but score improved only to 9371. I do not OC the card. Latest drivers are installed (AMD Catalyst 13.11)
Specs are as follows:
CPU - i5 3570
Motherboard - MSI H77MA-G43
RAM - 2 x 8GB DDR3 Kingston
GPU - Sapphire R9 280X Toxic
HDD - Seagate 1TB 7200RPM
The card runs at about 40-50C idle, and the core clock speed is 1150MHz and memory speed at 1600Mhz. It's the same as the factory stock settings.
Could I have received a defective card?
