This motherboard is old, I know it supports ddr3 but that's about it.
I want to upgrade the ram, as I currently only have 4gb.
I plan to make a new machine soon so I wanted to get good ram (looking at 16gb) that will work in this machine then can be moved to the new one when I make it.
However, I have no idea what memory my motherboard supports per channel, I know it's got 4 slots but that's about it.

Here's a link to a CPU-Z thingy I made: http://i.imgur.com/caiTvvO.jpg

Yes it should. You could pick up a second set later, but that is not guaranteed to work with the current set you buy. Sometimes RAM (even the exact same model) will play up if it wasn't all from the same set, so I'd recommend you purchase a whole new 4x4GB set and only use half of it now and you can add the rest in later when you have a new mobo.

Ok so it will work with 2x4GB? Then when I build a new machine I can just pick up another set of 2x4gb to make 4x4gb for the 16gb I want?
