The Nvidia graphics driver update has caused crash.
The error messages started with:
"The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM)". Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver".
I updated the graphics driver (or tried to), this is the error message I got:
“The syntax of the INF is invalid”.
I updated the graphics driver from Nvidia: no good. I updated the graphics driver from ASUS: no good. In all cases, when restarted, the welcome screens background got distorted, the computer froze and began the automatic restart cycle. Startup Repair (Recovery, etc.) did not work.
So I did a "clean/reinstall of Windows 7. Every time I updated the driver, the screen flickered, froze, the screen goes black, then this error message:
"The display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has recovered" appears.
It did that every 6-7 seconds a few times, BSOD, and then it crashed.
Because the automatic restart did not give a choice of start modes, I had to do a reinstall/recovery install back to Windows Vista. Then the last error step repeats after I (try to) update the graphics driver. I rolled it back.
My guess is: a missing file, a certification/verification signature issue or (outdated) BIOS software.
Please, I need help.
