Hello all! I was hoping for some help in building a gaming desktop. I'm looking at about $1,500 for the budget.

I'd like an SSD for the OS and whatever games I happen to be actively playing at the time and a 2TB HDD for everything else. Beyond that, I'm pretty much just looking to get the best bang for my buck.

Thanks in advance!

Do you need OS and/or peripherials such as keyboard, mouse, monitor ?

This is ok if you don't nee any of the extras, or even if you need the OS it still ducks under the $1500 mark.
Should provide great gaming at 1920x1080, the psu allows for Crossfire of the R9 280X as well.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series...

This includes monitor and OS and still supports the crossfire on the PSU.

This is if you need windows, assuming you already have a monitor. You also might want to wait for non-reference R9-290s (cough gigabyte windforce cough). The psu leaves a lot of room for upgrading in the future also.
