I recently, today replaced a fried motherboard on my computer, ASRock 980 GX with the Biostar TA970. I was ready to freshly install windows but the system booted up right away without issue, programs are running, things are updating, I'm posting this message from it, I am in no way an expert on these things but from what I understand this is no usual.

My question is what kind of potential issues can/will I run into if I do not freshly install windows, what things should I be checking to see if I have to do it?

many a times windows refuses to boot, random crashes may occur, windows boot may may take ages, driver conflicts may exist even after uninstalling the older drivers and installing the new ones, so on and so forth

you will need to uninstall all the old drivers, do a complete driver sweep and than install the relevant drivers for the new hardware
