I have searched endlessly for weeks now with no solution, so I'm wondering if maybe someone here could help me.My computer will boot, fans light up spin, keyboard lights up and so does mouse. But monitor says no signal and goes to sleep, tried using a different monitor still no luck, checked ram, nothing, checked video cards, nothing again, pulled the battery out for 30 minutes also no luck, also tried removing the power cable hold down power for 30 seconds and trying that also no luck. When i press the power button on the computer the Power and HD lights illuminate for only a second or two than nothing. I pulled the HD out of my laptop and hooked it up to my computer also nothing. Any help would be awesome thanks! Its a custom built computer and has ran for quiet some time just fine. The motherboard on it is an Asus (idn exactly which model but its a crossfire if that helps)

Hi:),
I had the same thing, make sure with the RAM to push it down so the slot holder things click into place, it should click into place by itself and the RAM stick should be tight, should not be able to take out without undoing the slot holder, check out a video on putting in RAM, you have to apply alot of pressure on the sides to make it click into place, also if I might add dont be gentle like I did and put it in wrong,(not all the way in) push hard down so that it clicks into place, dont slam it with a hammer ;) just push hard:D
Hope this helps GOOD LUCK!!!!!:)

yes, everything besides clearing the CMOS using the jumper, I did it by removing the battery though also all RAM is securely in place, like i said this computer used to work completely fine

maybe 1 of the parts died or something try switching parts with different ones (if u have) with known good ones , different RAM etc.....the people here told me when I had a prob, the best way to tell whats wrong is to start from the beg, unplugging everything besides cpu mobo and psu, and if those work add on from there, video card, ram, etc...(go through the troubleshooting list T_T showed you :)) also getting a mobo speaker is very good:D

Alright so I finally got it to boot, well at least somewhat, I unplugged one of the video cards and put in my laptop hard drive, now I'm having a new problem. When trying to startup it says windows failed to load. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So problem one seems to be either insufficient power getting to the GPU you removed, or the GPU itself is bad; or a distant third, the PCI-E slot went bad. Nice work on getting your problem solved.

As for the Windows error, this is likely due to Windows looking for the laptop motherboard and its attached devices. Though Windows gets installed to the HDD, it actually binds to the motherboard. Why do you want to use your laptop HDD in your PC? Is your PC HDD not booting?
