I have just bought a new gaming system with a GTX780Ti, and was planning to hook it to my large HDMI TV to be my new gaming machine instead of an xbox one or ps4.

When I turn the machine on, it sounds like everything is starting up as it should, but the monitor is not receiving any input.

Is there a shortcut I can use to force the PC into hdmi? My gut feeling tells me it is probably set to a monitor. If anyone has other ideas, I am open to them though.

Thanks,

Chris/Lectrolux

PS: Running Win7 64bit professional if that helps?

If you can go into the TV's menu and see the resolution of the input that you are tying to use and if it's not 1920x1080 then you can see if it can be changed since that is possibly what the video card is putting out.
With a video card in a computer the card auto senses the port being used and transmits through that port. With a TV you have to us an input that is not connected to the tuner that is used for broadcast TV so one of the inputs other than that need to be used and you may need to go into the TV's menu to activate the input or source and name it so you can select it when you want to use the computer.

There is probably a display resolution mis-match between what the graphics card is outputting and what your HDTV can accept as an input. Your best bet would be to temporarily connect a monitor as well to your system, get your desktop to display there and then adjust the resolution/frequency being output to your HDTV until you find a match.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get any success there... I'll just call the shop I bought it from.

Thanks anyway.
