I bought a Hyper X 3k 120GB SSD, and it is getting barely half the advertised speeds (555MBs/510MBs). Yes it's plugged in to SATA III. I don't know what is wrong, or maybe I'm just forgetting something stupid. Anyways, here is a link to the ATTO Benchmark: http://i.imgur.com/pBx7xk6.png

Solution
Your motherboard does not have native SATA 3 (6Gb/s) ports. It uses an ASMedia ASM1061 controller for the 6Gb/s ports.

Current generation SSDs need to be connected to native 6Gb/s ports in order to get advertised Read/Write speeds.

1.) Update your ASMedia AHCI drivers to version 2.0.2.0 dated 19/11/13
2.) Update your ASMedia controller firmware to version 3.02 dated 20/11/2013

See if that improves your benchmark results

It would appear something is out of whack with your setup. Here is my 15 month old 128GB Hyperx 3K, under the exact same parameters:

Getting pretty much the exact advertised speeds.

The Host controller helped some, but it's still off by about 150mb/s. http://i.imgur.com/ONhySch.png I don't know how to install the other thing. Thanks!
