Would an AMD A10-6800k work with this motherboard as an upgrade? And increase FPS in game?

Preliminary search (GOOGLE PEOPLE) suggests it should fit with a bit of axle grease and some pixy dust lightly sprinkled on top.

If it doesn't fit I didn't say this ... Please for the love of me (god) don't stick an A8/10 series cpu in it if you have a discrete gaming card.

Your wasting the extra money you just paid for the graphics on the same die when your simply not using it.

Plus some of us will cry a little ...

I have an A8-5500. Im not sure if the MOBO sups athlons, and there are no BIOS updates available for it. The MOBO in my desktop looks identical to this one. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03757575&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en#N127

i wouldnt upgrade at all a8 5500 is fine if your using the same graphics package and athlon k doesnt worth with hp boards

i would get a 7790 or 7850 as the r9 etc are rebranded versions of the series just tweaked

Why do you keep saying this? His motherboard supports all fm2 cpus 100w and lower. That's every single one of them. You can see both A10 "K" models are listed. The Athlon x4 750k is the same chip as the 5800k, and the 760k is the same chip as the 6800k. Just with disabled igpu of course.

I have NO doubt that the 750k/760k will fit in his motherboard with no problems.

The specs on the motherboard don't list the 6800k so my guess is NO..
