Would an AMD A10-6800k work with this motherboard as an upgrade? And increase FPS in game?

What would you be upgrading from? The A10 will work with that motherboard, butt's not the best cpu to go with if you're going to pair it with a discrete video card.

Look at the Athlon x4 750k or 760k instead.

The Athlon x4 750k and 760k are both fm2 processors just as your A8 and the A10 are. The A10 6800k or either Athlon would be decent upgrades from your A8. The Athlons are your best bet since you don't need the A10's igpu.

i would get a 7790 or 7850 as the r9 etc are rebranded versions of the series just tweaked

ignore turbo you cant get a k as stated by the bios

Why do you keep saying this? His motherboard supports all fm2 cpus 100w and lower. That's every single one of them. You can see both A10 "K" models are listed. The Athlon x4 750k is the same chip as the 5800k, and the 760k is the same chip as the 6800k. Just with disabled igpu of course.

Preliminary search (GOOGLE PEOPLE) suggests it should fit with a bit of axle grease and some pixy dust lightly sprinkled on top.

If it doesn't fit I didn't say this ... Please for the love of me (god) don't stick an A8/10 series cpu in it if you have a discrete gaming card.

Your wasting the extra money you just paid for the graphics on the same die when your simply not using it.

Plus some of us will cry a little ...

The HP site simply lists "upgraded" cpu's not the full list. The other site I listed does. Ifyou can find some HP reference to the full list of cpu's for that bios that might be helpful cturbo.
