So I'm having issues with my computer now and days when it crashes/Blue screens, and it will give me options to try to recover my PC from the latest accident, when I try to select another recovery option from the BIOS itself it freezes my computer in which case i would see the 30 second timer it gives you and freezes as soon as I select a different option or press "Enter". So I'm forced to select the default option and wait for the timer to end so no issue will present itself. But I'm more worried eventually i will have select other options by force and I found out through some researching that the cause of my BIOS freezes could be perhaps its out of date. So I looked for my current BIOS version and found it being (American Megatrends Inc. 6.02, 7/21/2010) for my N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix) Motherboard and i found this current version of the BIOS (N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update;Released:2011-09-23) on the website but knowing how specific these things can be, I'm worried that this might be another motherboard BIOS and I don't wish to turn my motherboard into paperweight. Can anyone help me out?

I have a HP Pavilion p6616f Desktop and its running Windows 7 64-bit. and I did a google search for a "N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix) BIOS Update" and on the first link from the HP website it gave me a driver for a N-Alvorix-RS880 BIOS wasn't so sure if its the same Motherboard

I went to the HP Software and Driver download page already and not one of those drivers seem to be the BIOS update though i did come across this update when I went google searching:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadInde...

those it says that the BIOS is for the N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard so I have no idea if it the same as the N-Alvorix-RS880-uatx (alvorix)

I can not contact HP anymore since i bought this PC about in 2010/2011 i believe the warranty on it from HP already expired so I can't ask HP for help because they require a warranty check that's active in order to request technical support

seems like it worked after I updated my BIOS using your link it did say loading up Default BIOS so i wasn't sure but after checking into my "msinfo32" my current BIOS is now:

BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 6.07, 5/4/2011

from before being: American Megatrends Inc. 6.02, 7/21/2010

so thank you everyone for your help I very much appreciate it and also to you nickbachu having your opinion similar to gokul36 gave me more trust in the link to try it and so far so good if anything else happens ill shall return but until than keep up the great work guys :D
