My last VGA died like three weeks ago and today i received the new one i bought; the VGA in itself seems to works perfectly, but for some reason my computer has slowed down significantly, the only reason i can think of is the new card as everything worked better with the old card before it died.

I also had a bluescreen after i updated the new card's driver, it hasn't happened again since then, but it involved the driver dxgkrnl.sys and had the bugcheck 0x00000117 according to Bluescreenview, im pretty sure i saw the blue screen saying that my video card driver was acting up as well though.

im thinking that it might have something to do with old drivers, but im not sure and im kinda scared of running driverfusion (have read that it can hurt my computer permanently quite badly).

can anyone offer any help?

i did notice that the 5870 does have better statistics than the 7790 in some areas, which kinda baffles me since i thought a newer version meant better stats (like a whole generation apart...); however we're talking 30 seconds to do stuff that would normally be instantaneous, like opening a browser window or opening properties of a word file.

I think i found the problem though; it appears that installing the driver to the new VGA also included the software "hydravision", i disabled and uninstalled that last night and so far everything is running as smooth as ever...
