Hello everyone, I have a noob question for you. I just picked up a 780 classified hydro copper GPU for super cheap and am wondering how to setup the cooling system for it. What do I need to buy? I have never done any liquid cooling other than the H100i for my CPU.

Thanks.

You are looking at at least another $200 investment before youll even be able to use that. Youll need tubing, a radiator, pump and resevoir at the bare minimum to get a loop going.

Is it worth taking the plunge into liquid cooling? I picked this up for $500 unopened so if I have to drop $200 on a liquid cooling system I see that as me at least coming out even.

Depends I guess. Mostly its an epeen thing. Cause you cant cool anything cooler than the air you are using to cool it. Itll allow you to put more impressive overclocks on things as it dissapates heat a bit better than air coolers. But the cool factor is a big part of it.

Will the liquid cooling be something that is useful in the future?

It will be if you feel at anytime you need some more horsepower for your games and the most cost effective way to do that is OCing. That vid card should be able to run just about anything on max settings at 1440p. 1080p and its a waste.

Could you recommend parts for a liquid system that can run 2 GPU's? I have a 1440p 120hz monitor that I might feel the need to SLI on. Or will this single 780 be able to get 120fps?

Depends on the game. I dont have a clue whether itll acheive 120 FPS on whatever you play nor would I even hazard a guess. As far as parts, if you do some research you might be able to find a kit. But www.frozencpu.com is a good place for parts. Personally I like EK Water Blocks.

So what all do I need for a kit? I think I'm good on a water block as I think the 780 classified hydro copper is preinstalled with one.

Youll need a pump, resevoir and radiator, tubing, clamps. Do a little research, youll have to do it anyhow to have an idea of how it all goes to together and where is best to install it.

XSPC PC makes some fabulous watercooling kits that are easily to install and work pretty wall .

Though planning water cooling loops is a huge thing, there's alot of planning required into it. You should've just bought a normal aftermarket 780 instead imo
