I built my computer, and it worked. It went to BIOS, and I turned it off. Then i took it apart to get all the cords in the back so it would increase the airflow. When I put everything together, everything was working, then when I went into BOIS again, I realized that I didn't plug in the cord to make the optical drive open. So I found the cord, plugged it in, and turned on my computer. It made the beeping noise and a little screen on the mother board said A0/ide initialization is started. Everything is plugged in correctly, but the monitor stays at a black screen. Also, the VGA cable is plugged in on both sides (to the motherboard), and both have working power cords.

And yes, my monitor is turned on

Follow these guidelines step by step.

If none of them work, you probably have a faulty part.

Sorry, but I just learned that my motherboard didn't have onboard video... I feel like an idiot now. But this problem could hypothetically exist for others, so thank you on behalf of others looking for solutions.
