Static IP address for wireless modem

We have purchased home security cameras which require a static IP address in order to view via the Internet or a smart phone. Do we have to upgrade our wireless modem to achieve this? Is there an easier way?

You likely can use a software service like dyndns that will monitor and update the site whenever you IP changes. It really depends how much it changes, most will not change unless you boot the router. You might be able to just manually keep track of it if it does not change a lot.
