Hello Everyone,

Thank you in advance for any comments and information. So, thank you.

Am building a brand new computer next week, will have everything this weekend. I'll be gaming (COD, BF4), photo/film editing, doing lots of word processing, typing manuals, etc.

So, any kind of downloads that will assist me with my components, organizational, etc. I will already have AVG & Malwarebytes, I use Google Chrome, and that's all I know for now. I offer you more info but I really don't know what other info you need.

Thank you very much again and have a great holiday.

Adblock on Chrome, Change power settings to High performance,
go to folder settings to show hidden folders and show extensions for known file types.

Change virtual memory max to 1.5 x the amount of ram you have

get cpu meter , gpu meter to monitor your hardware as a sidebar

go to msconfig and disable unwanted programs on start up

those are just some of the software tweeks i remember to do when i reformat my computer

Solution
Super useful when you start getting everything set up.

Awesome programs
- Fences (organize desktop icons)
- Rainmeter, difficult to explain but allows a lot of customization for how your desktop functions
- Start8 since your using Windows 8, basically brings back the Win7 UI.

Tips in general
- Have all your drivers downloaded to a USB drive beforehand. Some drivers take ages to download.
- update all your BIOS' and firmware before installing Windows.
- Move your User Folders to a HDD. There is a hidden folder called AppData that will be in your user account, and it takes up a fair bit of space once programs start dumping info into it.
- Organize file structure then and there, have Chrome/Utorrent/Whatever download to the right place.
