, what will happen is that you see 4 cores are being used to their 20 percent and the game is lagging like crazy, this is where fx 83-- and i7 will shine
No, thats not how it works. The additional threads will just be assigned to the 4 cores available, and the threads will queue and work the CPU harder. The Cores wont just be lightly loaded and cause performance issues.
Absolutely wrong!! it is so sad that people with little knowledge comment on things they have no specialty in, when it comes to multi threaded games, those cores wont be fully loaded , each core has an assignment to do, so each core will do one process at the time, which produces parallel rendering/ parallel processing, the program won't care for the stronger cores, if it wanted to do so, why would game developers go for parallel computing!? in case of i7 for each core there are two threads, which will enable each core, use its full potential, even if it is parallel, otherwise everyone knows that i7 and i5 use the same cores, but i7 has more threads, , crysis 3 is just a small example of how it works, as you can see in those benchmarks, there is a big gap between i5 and i7 where fx 8350 beats them both, because fx has 8 cores so it does the parallel computing much easier. I suggest you read more, just google multi core cpus and download one of those instructive tutorials about difficulties making games on these CPUs and about progression made to date.
