hey,

I was going to go with the Asus maximus vi hero (good features?) until i noticed it did not have display port only hdmi so i didn't want it then the first board i looked i seen had hdmi, display port, vga ect.. and that was the asus z87 pro. Now i noticed that you are meant to plug your plugs into the graphics card? so does that mean that every case you have access to plug into the graphics card and why not the board.

And also i only picked these boards just because they where the first that came to my eye. Are they good with there features and could i get better for the price range? and what are some things i should be looking at when buying one

The graphics connectors (HDMI, DVI, DSUB or display port) on the motherboard are only used if you don't have a graphics card and are using the integrated graphics or the CPU or motherboard.
If you install a graphics card, you connect the monitor cable to the graphics card.

You only need an expensive board like this if you plan to install two graphics cards (Crossfire or SLI).
With one video card, something like the Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H would be fine.
