My friend has silver sagem router that has worked ok but he wants to plug an ethernet to it to use is laptop for gaming instead of wirelless, but i have tred to access it via 192.160.0.1 and .1.1 but it doesn't return anything. even if i try ipconfig /all the local connection does have a valid ip address, is there another way to access the router setup ??

Well then, its [online] manual would be the place to look, to see if the default address is different. Since he's been using it, and has physical access to it to plug in a cable, I will assume it does indeed belong to your friend; if he bought it used, it may need to be reset to factory defaults if a previous owner changed its address or starting IP.
