I have looked around a fair amount, and am unable to find what I am looking for. Does anyone know if Samsung has official diagnostic tools for SSD drives?

I am basically looking for the same thing Seagate, and WD put out as a ISO boot cd for their hard drives.

I guess my questions are. Is there different testing tools for SSD's vs a standard HDD? If so, does anyone know what would work for a Samsung SSD if Samsung doesn't have their own software?

I have looked on the Samsung site, but I don't see any testing software.. just some software to assist with migration.

I have looked at it, but you need a functioning OS to run it. My drive had some sector errors, and the Win 8 install is now not bootable. I was looking for an actual boot disk with their tools to test the disk and reinstall the OS, or possibly send it in for warranty replacement.

I have located some 3rd party tools to test the drive, but I was looking for something officially from Samsung, but maybe it doesn't exist.

Samsung doesn't have any diagnostic tools available for the public. The only bootable thing Samsung has is the Secure Erase, which completely wipes your drive. You could try that and re-install your OS and see if it works fine after that.
