My HDMI port doesnt work.

Hey

I saw yesterday that i had a little black thingy on my computer and i removed it and then i saw a HDMi port but when i plug my TV through a HDMI cable nothing happens it doesnt show up, Do i have to activate it or something?

depending on your graphics card, it should automatically detect that there's a new display added. try switching the tv to the new hdmi input.

But the HDMI port is next to some USB ports not next the the DVI ports

it's the onboard card. it got automatically disabled when you plugged the discreet card. you should use the hdmi on the graphics card. or a dvi to hdmi adapter

I already have 2 monitors so i have no DVI spots left I have a VGA though but that was also covered in a black cover

there should be some bios options to allow you to enable those outputs too. what's your motherboard make and model?

no, with that cpu. no. the "P" series have the integrated graphics disabled.

the outputs exist on the motherboard because it supports also the normal cpu-s that have integrated graphics. so you can't unless you get a vga to hdmi active adapter and use the vga port next to the dvi ports. you could connect one of the monitors on vga instead of dvi and get a dvi to hdmi for the tv.

the gtx 650 card should also have a mini hdmi or standard hdmi output. you could use that one.

My VGA port is not next to the DVI port, its just under the HDMI port
