i am planning to buy :
intel core i5 3470 or amd fx 8350
galaxy nvidia geforce gtx 660 or sapphire radeon hd 7870
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT
Corsair CMPSU-430CXV2UK 430 Watts PSU
4 gb single stick ddr3 ram
also could you tell me if my mother board would be good enough for amd fx 8320
Any suggestions around this price range would really be appreciated. will my psu be enough, and i know there are multiple questions in here (sorry for that). i'm kind of a noob. thanks a lot guys

I suggest the 8320, overclock it past the 8350, the 7870, an Asus M5A97 R2, and 8gb of RAM with two sticks for dual channel. You need a bit more powerful PSU, that will just barely run that build (or any combination of parts you suggested, really). http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2jICv that is the total (it does have a case, no OS, dvd drive, harddrive, etc).

Well that intel processor wont' go in that motherboard you have, and that PS is probably a bit small for the rig I would want 550w personally, and to play "next gen" games you'll need 8 gb of ram, you can switch to an 8320 and upgrade to 8gb ram, and spend no extra money, the upgrade to 550W ps shoudlnt' be too expensive either.

you can't use Intel CPUs in Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT motherboard.
and HD 7870 is slightly better than GTX 660.
4GB ram is not enough for future proof gaming.
you should have 8GB of ram [ 2 x 4GB ] of 1600MHz.
you'll need a better PSU of 500W like CX 500.
