Hey guys,
my front USB 3.0 ports are not working.

ASRock X79 Extreme6
Nanoxia Deep Silence Two Dark Black

that big 12-16 pin cable is in the header, when i plug in drives they power on for some seconds then go to sleep again. tested with several different drives.
The one USB 2.0 Front port is working, different cable though.

The chipset seems to be a TI XHCI Controller, in SIW the ressources for this controller the IRQ shows up as one of the few with a negative hex value?!
I tried installing a new TI chipset driver already - no success. Disabled Windows ability to power off the controller.

device manager say everything is cool though, and the rear USB 3.0 ports work just fine.

any idea?

Since the rear usb3.0 ports are working, I think you are ok on the drivers and the devices.

I have had some motherboard usb3.0 header cables come loose. The cables are very stiff and can work loose easily.
Try holding it in firmly and see if that helps.

USB3.0 has new power saving options and can put the device to sleep.
You might want to turn off the ability of all usb devices to sleep.

yeah i noticed the cable doesnt stick too good, but since the usb devices were actually powering on for some seconds i thought that shouldnt be the problem? oh well..
