Hmmm that's weird i know i've ran into the problem of no being able to install windows 7 with that many sticks in but once i had windows 7 installed i was able to pop the rest of the ram in and had no issues after that. When i had the problem it would freeze right as the windows orbs started to fly around.

Its extremely weird but what I might do is just buy two 4 GB ram sticks and just do that because right now I only have 4 GB installed.
