My PC won't boot or even go into POST, iv'e tried resitting everything and buying a new power supply, it happens with the boot drive plugged out so its not windows, I think it might be the motherboard. When I press the power button the fans spin and everything seems fine, but I only get a black screen with a white rectangle in the top left hand corner. Its been happening for a few months, usually i would just turn it off and it would boot after a few tries, but its gotten progressively worse to the point it wont turn on at all. I've tried resetting the CMOS battery and trying to boot with just essentials and nothings fixed it. Any ideas? Thanks

Specs:
i5 3570k
MSI Z77A-G45
GTX 670
8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz

Could be bad ram. If you have multiple ram modules, try taking one out and booting with the other. Try the procedure with both.

That could be a very rare problem....caused due to power surge
