This is my first time building a computer so I don't really know if these parts are compatible or if they're the most efficient hardware for the buck. Can you guys please help in any way?
Any also do I need to buy the cables ( for example: to connect computer to monitor) separately? thank you! much appreciated! oh p.s. This computer is for gaming and general purposes.

If you need a DVD drive it'll go over budget. Not sure if you needed an OS. But this motherboard can do SLI, if your not considering crossfire or SLI then you can go with a lower board like a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 or ASUS M5A97 R2.0 (the one you picked).
