I picked up a WD My Passport 1TB the other day and at first tried to use it to back up my macbook air and realized that it wouldn't backup to exFAT. I want to use it for both my pc desktop and macbook air. I plugged it into the PC and restored the defaults. Now when i open the properties and try to reformat it there is nothing in the drop down list. I've tried running a command that i found on another post in the cmd prompt and it told me that it was reformatting and then got stuck at 0%. Any ideas?

Not particularly informative, doesn't really pertain to my issue of changing the format of the drive.

oic,
Your best bet may be a search on the apple forums. The answer should be posted there(one would think anyway). This one seems similar to your issue:
