I ask this because after installing it and attempting to actually use its higher(maxed) settings on xcom / assassins creed 4 I'm hearing this noise.

The noise gets louder and louder the more I do in the game, it sounds like it is coming out of the PSU, am I over working it? or should a 750w be able to handle a single 770gtx?

I have another 770gtx on the way, if my 750w isn't powerful enough for even one of these, how big of a PSU would I need for two 770s?

Solution
For a system using a single ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II OC graphics card a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 33 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors is recommended.

For a system using two ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II OC graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode a minimum of a 850 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 50 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power...

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Rosewill BRONZE series 750W (RBR750-M) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 54 Amps and with two 6-pin and two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is way more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II OC graphics card. It is also sufficient to power your system configuration with two ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II OC graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode.

I wouldn't recommend any further overclocking of the CPU and/or GPUs though without getting a better power supply unit.

Wow. Thank you for the very in depth information about my question.

Is it safe to assume then that the noise coming from my power supply when I play my maxed settings games such as AC4 and even a less heavy game such as XCOM is cause for concern? And that my power supply might actually be going bad?

Because from the information given my power supply is more than enough for the single card I have installed at the moment.

And is there a way to pick multiple solutions, you have given great info just now but i'm really quite curious if my PSU is going bad from the noise it is creating.

It sounds more like a rattle definitely not a hum or a squeal.
Possibly a tick but i'm still leaning more towards rattle.
At first I thought it was like the 770 being so powerful that it was rattling my case and something that might have been loose was rattling but I got down to the computer and put my ear up to it while playing one of those games and it was definitely coming from inside the PSU.

It would go from a non exitent sound on my lower end games like Orcs Must Die 2 and then the rattling would start when I started playing XCOM and then when I played AC4 or Skyrim with max settings on both the PSU would rattle very loud.
