should i use my onboard graphics or my amd card

my 670 is being shipped for a replacement, ive been trying to play games on my i5 4670k but on most games the lowest setting lags unplayable. i have a old radeon hd 3870, should i uninstall my graphics drivers and hook up the 3870 or use my onboard graphics of the i5? which would get better performance

The 3870 would be better on DX9 games but as said it lacks DX11. On games that require DX11 you would just get a error message saying that you need DX11 hardware but that is all it would not harm anything. And you could at least play some games until your GPU gets shipped back.
