This is my first build and I have now bsoded twice in BF4.
I have an r9 290 and 4770k on a maximus vi hero mb with 8 gigs of corsair vengeance ram running on a corsair hx 650 psu. I know i am close to the power limit (online calculators tell me i require about 625watts). I also know that amd is notorious for bad drivers and that bf4 has had a buggy start. Another problem is that I currently only have the stock cooler on cpu and gpu. I havent run full stress testing because the cpu has hit 85C after just 2mins of prime95 with individual cores hitting 100C. I have planned on adding a custom water cooling loop in mid-January, which should tackle that issue though.
Long story short, what would someone wiser than I attribute these crashes to and what what be the best plan of action to fix the issue(s)?

thanks, whocrashed is pretty awesome showed me that all my crashes have been:

Error: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\hal.dll

It listed 2 crashes for today for the same time. both had this:

description: Hardware Abstraction Layer DLL
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a fatal hardware error has occurred. This bug check uses the error data that is provided by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).
This is likely to be caused by a hardware problem problem. This problem might be caused by a thermal issue.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

The one from 2 days ago had the same description.
The conculsion found no offending drivers.

I assume now that it is a thermal issue. I do have some higher end thermal paste laying around, I will go ahead and replace the pastes this weekend. Would you have any ideas to help prevent similar crashes until i put in a water loop?
