Hey there, i have a motherboard that supports both pata and sata. I am wanting to use 4 pata drives (2 on each chain) and 2 sata drives on each of the ports the motherboard has. Is this possible for 1, and 2 if so what jumper configuration would that require? Would sata0 take over as the master or would there still be a need for a pata master?

Yes it's possible. The PATA jumper configuration works independently of SATA drives (the PATA jumper settings must match on each cable).

So does that mean they should all be slave? Or cable select?

One should be master and one slave, or both should be cable select. See which way works
