Assuming you can find a 280X in stock without the recent supplier markup, I would recommend it. Especially with Mantle support coming out soon (assuming you play any game that will support it).

That said, finding a 280X and not overpaying for it will be very hard to do currently as the cryptocurrency miners have went crazy and snapped up nearly every performance AMD card available.

Otherwise the GTX770 will work just fine.

Either way, you're getting a hell of a card.
It's like choosing between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, either way, you can't go wrong.

Thanks Rolli59,

Actually i do not have budget problem with any of them. I am just looking for the better performance even if its 5%. some say that GTX 770 is better http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-280X-vs-Colorful-GeForce-GTX-770 as you can see in these benchmarks.

Also, in Tomshardware (Best GPUs for the money) has also suggested GTX 770 better than R9 280X http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-4.html (R9 280X is in the 4th page and GTX 770 is 5th page with R9 290)

When i see benchmarks with what the people say, i become confused with one to choose. Benchmarks also vary sometimes...

so, please just say one of them along with the reason you think its better.

Thank you Ish416,

and thank you everybody else for putting your time and care! i appreciate that.

I've already got your answer the best one. you are completely right that either way is not wrong.

I'll go for the (Colorful GTX 770 IGame Flame Wars U) it's kind of OC version. I choose this one because back there in 2009, I was told that AMD was better so i got an XFX 5750, and i was really happy with it, but in some way, it had difficulty with some games. So i want to change the taste to Nvidia for some time, and see how will it do. Colorful Igame is a Chinese brand (approved by Nvidia) mostly distributes in Asia. ( I also live in China, but not Chinese :D)

Just another question, how's my MOBO? Is Xeon E3 1230 V3 is powerful enough for running the games coolly? and how about RAM?
