I currently have a 7950 3gb. I play at 1440p and I am in need of a second card in order to max out my frame rates. Its impossible to find a used 7950 at a reasonable price. I bought mine new for 310$ a year ago and all the used ones I see are for 450 plus. When the r9 280 non x comes out can I use it in crossfire with the 7950 or should I sell my 7950 and buy a r9 280x- r9 290 non x?

Solution
You wont be able to Xfire the 7950 with anything but a 7950. The exception are some 77xx series, or the 7970. Since coin-mining has driven prices for 7950s and almost all amd cards up, you are going to be hard pressed to find ANY at a reasonable price. A 280x would be on par with a 7970, so a 290+ would be the only real upgrade.

Hi :) please be aware that when you Crossfiring two GPU's,the better one will automatically downgrade itself in order to cope with the weaker one.So its better for you to get back the same GPU and overclocked it to the same Core Clock and Memory Clock as the previous one you using. Hope i helped :D
