Hey guys I used to play skyrim a lot on the console and loved it. When I moved over to pc I decided to get it since it was like 10 bucks. I tried playing it today and noticed in a lot of areas it stutters. When I say stutter I mean like, choppiness and in that matter. I have tried everything to fix this such as: changing the skyrim.ini file with all the "fixes" that didnt work, disabled the hd texture pack, verified game cache, played for a few hours to see if it went away, downloaded mods that "fix" the problem (In which they didnt). My setup: i5 3570k OCed to 4.2 ghz, 7870 ghz edition with a small stable oc, Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated!

are you running any kind of mods? mostly script based mods do that to skyrim's engine.

What are your shadow settings? I know skyrim has buggy shadows that could cause stuttering, try setting your shadows to low. If you're running fraps or any other program like it, I recommend closing it while playing skyrim.

none of it worked. I put the game in windowed mode at the highest resolution and it seemed to work. Any stuttering I had before is now gone (knock on wood) it is kind of annoying with the borders in window mode but Ill take that rather the stuttering.

Thanks, it worked like a charm! Only problem is if you alt-tab at the wrong time/place your mouse cursor disappears even after ending the game forcing you to restart your comp. to get your mouse back. Other than that though its awesome! Thanks once again

From the patch creator:
Program not responding or white screen or windows loading cursor or slow load times:
Another resource issue here, ALT+TAB during loading screens is a bit risky, please be patient and do so with caution.
Mouse doesn't work after leaving game:
Right click anywhere, then try again.
Have fun!

People have been saying in the post of that mod that the "test file" works and doesnt lose your mouse haha Anyway thanks for all your help! Since we are still on the topic of skyrim, do you know of any good mods you would recommend? If not its perfectly fine :)
