Here's something that shouldn't be hard but I can't find any utility to help.
I have a Samsung 250GB SSD that I replaced with a 500GB. I want to use the 250 as a secondary drive and boot from the 500 now. I hooked the 250 up over USB and zapped it, plugged in onto the Intel motherboard SATA on channel 1, and have the 500 booting on channel 0. Everything is fine with the new 500 (typing from that boot right now).
But only BIOS and the Intel RST utility can see the 250 secondary though because it still has it's ata password set. Since its locked Windows device manager and disk manager are blocked. I KNOW THE PASSWORD. But I cannot find any way to get reset or remove the password. The Intel BIOS only lets you set it, there's no option on the board to erase it (model DH67BL). I can set it, but it won't accept blanks or no password to clear it out.
How can you remove the password when you know it? I just want a utility that lets me enter the password for the drive since I know it, and then remove it/clear it out since I already know the password. Then Windows will be able to access it as an unlocked secondary SATA.
Thx,
