Hi I'm and older user (66) and want a new laptop, I've had a toshiba satellite, amd6 and 8gb ram and 750 gb hard drive. I only surf the web a little and use office and publisher 2010. Would this configuration suit.

As another older user I'd pick a laptop that had a DVD drive built in. That particular notebook looks like it will do the job if you are not expecting fast operation when running Office applications.

An Intel I5 with 8gb ram would work much faster but the price would be close to double of the system you are looking at. As long as the Office software package that you select is not super- expensive, the Toshiba would be a good choice.

Many thanks outlander-4 I appreciate the quick response, I hope to purchase it later this week. My only dilemma is that the toshiba doesn't have an optical DVD reader so I think I'll bite the bullet and purchase a portable one. I was looking at another toshiba that was an i3 with 4 gb ram and 640 gb hard drive with an optical DVD built in but thought my original plan was a better option. Have you any comment on which would suit me best. Thanks
